The short version: You pay for lines of service. Each line runs one coding session at a time, and usage on that session is unlimited. We don’t meter tokens or charge overages. You can cancel whenever you want. Use Standard Code to build software as hard as you like. You’re restricted from reselling or sharing lines, and from building a service that runs on our compute. Your code and everything Standard Code writes for you belong to you, and we never train on your data. AI can be wrong, so you decide what ships. If your service ever ends early, we refund the rest of your month, prorated by time.
1. The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and FormKit, Inc. d/b/a Standard Agents (“we,” “us”) covering Standard Code™ — the CLI, web console, desktop and mobile apps, and the hosted Standard Code service. By creating an account or using Standard Code, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
2. Lines of service
Standard Code is sold as lines of service, like a phone plan. Each line powers one session at a time — an open session occupies its line until it ends. Usage on a line is unlimited: no token quotas, no metering, no overages — usage is bounded by concurrency and time, not tokens. Saved threads don’t occupy lines, and neither do the subagents supporting your session.
Add or remove lines anytime; unusually large plans may require contacting us.
3. Acceptable use
Unlimited usage is for you, building software — interactively or through goals and automation you supervise, on projects you own or are authorized to work on. Capabilities like asset generation, research subagents, and the programmable API are included to support that work.
What breaks the deal:
- Reselling or sharing lines. A line is for one person (one seat, on team plans) — don’t split, pool, rent, or resell it.
- Operating a service on top of us. Standard Code isn’t backend infrastructure for third parties — no generation APIs, content farms, or products whose features are secretly our compute.
- Bulk generation unrelated to development. Generating assets for your projects is included; running the agent as a media-production pipeline is not.
- Defeating the model. Don’t automate around session concurrency to simulate extra lines, or deliberately exhaust the underlying model providers.
- Illegal or harmful use. No malware, no attacking systems you aren’t authorized to test, nothing unlawful.
We don’t throttle normal development work — that’s the product. If usage looks like the list above rather than someone building software, we may rate-limit while we investigate, and we reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate this section. If we end an account for abuse, we refund the rest of the billing cycle, prorated by time.
4. Your code and content
Your code, prompts, conversations, and files are yours. You give us only the license needed to operate the service — storing your workspace, processing it with model providers, and showing it back to you. We never train on your data and never sell it, as covered in the Privacy Policy.
The output Standard Code produces for you is yours, to the fullest extent we can grant it. Review it — AI-generated code can be wrong, insecure, or unfit for your purpose, and you decide what ships.
5. Billing
You’re billed monthly per line, at the pricing shown at checkout and on your account page. Added lines are prorated; Stripe processes payments. Cancel anytime from your account — future charges stop and service runs through what you’ve paid for. If we terminate your service, we refund the rest of your billing cycle, prorated by time.
6. The service
We work to keep Standard Code always online but don’t promise uninterrupted availability; when a model provider fails, sessions fail over automatically. If we ever need to pause the service for operational or safety reasons and it stays down for more than 24 consecutive hours, we’ll refund the downtime, prorated by time. Features may change over time — if a change materially reduces what your plan includes, we’ll tell you first.
7. Disclaimers and liability
Standard Code is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties (merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement), and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that can’t legally be limited.
8. Termination
Cancel anytime. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with the refunds described in Sections 3 and 5. On termination you can delete your data or ask us to — see the Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
10. Changes to these terms
We’ll notify you by email or in the product before material changes take effect. Continued use means you accept them; if you don’t, cancel and we’ll refund the rest of your cycle, prorated by time.
